Welcome to my personal website! I began this website project around 2000. Since then I've been to seminary, so two major trends have developed out of this time.
First, I've discovered that the writing I did, especially on homosexuality and scripture, was based on an interaction with the texts at face value, using limited tools. As I've learned more about biblical interpretation and the tools used by scholars in biblical studies, I find that my original readings lack an awareness of the nuances of the scriptures: how they came together, when they were written, and what what sorts of issues the authors were addressing. As a result, while I still want to keep those essays available for those who might find them useful, I've moved them into a section titled Before Seminary.
Second, I've decided to make a Seminary Papers section of the site to share what I've been writing for my classes. I hope that these, too, will be useful to some.
Go ahead and look around, understanding of course that it's a work in progress. There's a place for comments on the bottom of just about every page, so write to your heart's content. If you want to sign the guestbook or send a private message, then just follow one of the links on the menu.
